Reading Auditory Laboratory

The Reading Auditory Laboratory (RAL) is housed within Reading University's School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences. The Department of Psychology is broad-based with a variety of  research and teaching interests and has a long-standing reputation for excellence in experimental psychology, perception, learning, memory, and skilled performance. The Department of Clinical Language Sciences focuses on research in the area of typical and atypical speech and language acquisition and in acquired speech and language disorders.

Speech and Hearing

The Speech and Hearing Research Group (SpandH) was established in the Department of Computer Science, University of Sheffield, in 1986. Since then, it has gained an international reputation for research in the fields of speech technology and computational hearing. SpandH is concerned with computational modelling of auditory and speech perception in humans and machines, robustness in speech recognition, and large vocabulary speech recognition systems and their applications
