Lucy Moffatt

I am Research & Innovation Manager for the Department of Computer Science at The University of Sheffield where I have been employed since 2000, firstly as a Research Secretary for the Natural Language Processing reseach group, then in June 2005 I advanced to Research Administrator for the same group, since May 2013 I have been in my current role. Since I began my career here in 2000, the Department of Computer Science has received research grant funding of over £ 60m.

As a department, we have seen recent successes with 11 awarded H2020 projects (10 in a partner capacity) along with 2 ERC consolidator grants.

Currently, I am Administrative Coordinator of one H2020 project and two 7th Framework collaborative EC projects, namely:

  • H2020 SETA which has a funding amount of € 5.5m with 13 partners;
  • FP7 PHEME which has a funding amount of € 2.9m with 9 partners;
  • FP7 WeSenseIT which has a funding amount of € 5.4m with 14 partners.

    I am responsible for monitoring, reporting and accounting on a further 10 H2020 and 16 FP7 projects in a partner capacity worth approximately £ 8m+ as well as £ 6m+ in currently funded RCUK grants and approx £ 200k+ Charity/Industrial grant funding.

    Previously, I was the administrative coordinator on the FP7 Projects:

  • AnnoMarket which had a funding amount of € 1.4m with 4 partners;
  • ARCOMEM which had a funding amount of € 6m with 12 partners;
  • PATHS which had a funding amount of € 2m with 6 partners.
  • Prowess which has a funding amount of € 3.3m with 9 partners;

    and the FP6 Projects:

  • COMPANIONS which was funded by the EC to the amount of € 10m+ and consisted of 15 partners;
  • X-MEDIA which had a funding amount of € 9m+ with 12 partners;
  • TAO which had a funding amount of € 6m+ with 7 partners.
