Flashbacks from the 1960s and 1970s
The following historical pictures give a flavour of earlier generations
of the 20th Century group, from the light music to the folk-rock
eras of the society. In particular, these illustrate some of the early
line-ups that performed A Folk Passion.

The Selwyn Diamond Gig, Cambridge, 1979
The following pictures are taken from the first live gig played by the
prog/new wave line-up of 20th Century, at the Selwyn Diamond,
Selwyn College, Cambridge, on 16 November, 1979. Pictures kindly supplied

20th Century on the Road, 1979-80
The following pictures are taken from the 1979-80 season tour,
which took in Kent, Sussex and Suffolk. Most of these are not
performances, but shots of the group setting up or breaking down!

25th Anniversary Rehearsal, Sheffield, 2004
The following pictures are taken from the rehearsal, held in Fulwood,
Sheffield, for the 25th Anniversary concert, on 27 November 2004. This was
the first time that so many of the band had got together since the late

The following pictures are taken from the live performance of
20th Century during the 25th Anniversary Concert, held on
27th November 2004. Nearly all the original band members from the
1979-80 prog/new wave line-up were there,
except Dermot Boyle (guitar) and Mark Hammond (bass), whose place
was taken by Dave Hobson from the earlier 1978-79 line-up. Pictures

The 25th Anniversary Reunion, Sheffield, 2004
The following pictures are taken from the off-stage moments and
family get-together at the 25th Anniversary reunion. Most were taken
at Tony and Penny Simons' house during the day of 27 November 2004,
with a couple of shots from the Plough, Hathersage, where the band
met for a last reunion dinner on 28th November. High-resolution pictures
