RESPITE is funded by the
EC ESPRIT Long Term Research programme
from January 1999 for up to 3 years.
RESPITE will research new methodologies for
robust Automatic Speech Recognition
based on
missing-data theory
and
multiple classification streams

RESPITE will provide a link between ASR and
models of hearing
, particularly work in
Computational Auditory Scene Analysis
, which it will also support.
RESPITE will target in-car applications and cellular telephone recognition.
