• RESPITE is funded by the EC ESPRIT Long Term Research programme from January 1999 for up to 3 years.
• RESPITE will research new methodologies for robust Automatic Speech Recognition based on missing-data theory and multiple classification streams.
• RESPITE will provide a link between ASR and models of hearing, particularly work in Computational Auditory Scene Analysis, which it will also support.
• RESPITE will target in-car applications and cellular telephone recognition.
