Non-Fiction

3D Computer Graphics
These are books that I found really useful while an undergraduate especially during the time I spent working on my dissertation. As well as the time spent studying for modules in 3D computer graphics.
Natural Language Processing
These are the books that I am make great use of while researching NLP problems.
Popular Science
These books all deal with science subjects, but in a way in which your Grandmother would probably understand (well at least your parents)!
Travel - Bill Bryson
I have to admit that I never thought I would like travel books. Reading about other peoples experiences of visiting places I have not yet had the chance to really did not seem overly appealing. Numerous people, however, kept on telling me that I should try the Bill Bryson books and eventually I gave in and on a trip to Paris I read A Walk in the Woods and I have not looked back since. Not only are they extremely interesting books they are also amazingly funny and witty and well worth every second needed to read them from cover to cover.

Fiction

Scott Adams
He writes the well known Dilbert cartoons, loved by cubicle dwellers everywhere. What more is there to say!
Matt Beaumont
Another author of immensely funny office based fiction. A must read for anyone who works in an office and communicates via e-mail. Anyone who likes the Dilbert cartoons will absolutely love these books.
Tom Clancy
Although Tom Clancy writes many different books, by far the best set are those centred around Jack Ryan. This includes the books which form the basis of the hit films; 'The Hunt for Red October', 'Patriot Games' and 'Clear and Present Danger'.
Wendy Northcutt
Anyone who has been using the Internet for any length of time now, will have heard of Wendy Northcutt. Even if you don't know her name, you will now what she has been doing. She is the creator of the Darwin Awards, the legendary website that commemorates the remains of people who have improved the gene pool by killing themselves in really stupid ways.

DVDs

Television Series
These are all television series which I have enjoyed and are now available on DVD.
Feature Films
Well, these are all great films, which I would recommend to anyone.
Music
I've only just started to buy these, but from what I've seen they can be really good quality.

CDs

Great Big Sea
I only found out about Great Big Sea, when I saw them as the support act for Runrig in Sheffield. Saying they were great, really wouldn't do them justice. I actually bought two of their CD's in the interval at the concert they were really that good!
Runrig
What can I say, anyone who knows me, will know that I am a bit mad about Runrig's music. They are really great, with their different musical styles, and the fact that they sing in Gaelic as well as English just adds yet another dimension to a great band.
