This page, in partnership with the Blackboard page, will be definitive source of information for students doing the first semester of COM1003. Blackboard will be used for assessment and for recorded lectures, the web pages for alternative formats of everything but most of the material is available from both sources.

Some of the material below is not publicly available. If you are using a University machine or are connected to the University's Wi-Fi you can just click on the links otherwise you will need to create a VPN connection.

• How you will be taught and assessed
  

  • The Timetable
  • At 9am on Monday every week (except reading weeks) some new lectures and exercises will be released on both the Blackboard page and here.
  • There will be a Q & A session at 1pm every Monday (except reading weeks) in The Daimond Lecture Theatre 1
  • Everyone will have a practical session lasting two academic hours (100 minutes) every week except week 1 and the two reading weeks.  The date and time of your individual practical session will depend on your initial experience.  See the Blackboard for how to register for your practical class.
  • Reading weeks - when there are no practical classes and no new material is released - will be in weeks 6 and 12 of the semester.
