Assessment
COM160 Computer Problem Solving and Object Oriented Design 2nd
Semester Assessment consists of
- Three quizzes each worth 15% of the overall mark for the 2nd
half of the module in weeks 4, 7 and 12 of the semester
- An assessed practical worth 25% of the overall mark for the
2nd half of the module in week 8
- An assignment worth 30% of the 2nd half of the module due in
on Friday of week 12
There is no final examination. The two halves of the
module are equally weighted so your overall mark with be the
average of your 1st and 2nd semester marks. You don't have to pass
each semester individually.
Deadlines and Feedback
These are the only
assessments for the final half of COM160, there is no final
examination.
- The quizzes will be
- Quiz 1 in week 4
covering material from weeks 1, 2 and 3 on Friday, 1 March
at 2:10pm in Diamond Computer Rooms 2 and 4
- Quiz 2 in week 7
mostly covering material from weeks 4, 5 and 6 but assuming
you know the material from the first three weeks on Tuesday 19 March at 5:10pm in North
Campus Modular Village
- Quiz 3 in week 11
mostly covering material from weeks 7, 8 and 9 but assuming
you know the earlier material on Tuesday, 7 May 5:10pm in in
Diamond Computer Rooms 2 and 4.
Feedback from these quizzes will not be available immediately
but will be available within two working days.
- An assessed practical in
week 8 on Friday, 19 April at 2pm Diamond (Bring Your Own
Device) Computer Room 3
Feedback will be available within three weeks
- An assignment released
on 15 April and due in in week 12 on Friday 17th May at 3pm
Feedback may not be available until the overall marks for the
module have been approved by an examination board.
