• PPP dialup service - obtained Lantronix modem server, server software (ezcon) and two modems, awaiting estates fitting 4 analogue phone lines.

• [Nov 00] snarl moved to 100Mbit ethernet switch
• [Oct 00] snarl attached to RAID system in 104. Partitoned into 4x70Gb and exported. Not yet backed up and snarl still on 10Mbit UTP
• [Oct 00] babble fitted with kb & 17" monitor. Still on Solx86. guffaw moved to rlab5 and switched to cedar /usr/local
• [Oct 00] herring patched to use java 1.3 and switched to cedar /usr/local
• [Sept 00] chatter fitted with 8Mb AGP graphics, kb & 17" monitor. Still on Sol x86
• [Sept 00] herring removed from /usr/local on belch.
• [May 00] /share/spandh.11 failed, contents moved to /share/spandh.8 and NIS maps changed to  make it look still there.  spandh.8 disk enclosure seems to be overheating, may not be the disk at fault.
